Under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, the Arab International Industrial Forum (AIIF) was held in Doha Exhibition Center, Qatar on May 25 to 28, 2010. The forum was accompanied by an Arab and International Industrial Conference on the first two days, May 25 and 26, and an exhibition of Arab exports and international imports during the entire period.
The Arab International Industrial Forum was organized by the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization, Ministry of Energy and Industry in Qatar and Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Group in collaboration with Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Speakers and participants are expected to include ministers of industry, mining, energy and commerce, industrial experts, leading Arab businessmen and investors, and others concerned with different industrial activities, in addition to representatives of international, regional and Arab development funds, finance authorities, investment agencies and councils, and export development agencies.
The forum addressed and discussed a number of topics and issues that are crucial to industry and industrial development in the region, including:
- Impact of the global financial crisis on the Arab industrial and mining sectors and means of overcoming it.
- The attractiveness of the Arab region for industrial investment.
- Arab and international partnerships in industry.
- Boosting Arab industrial competition.
- Investment in construction and real estate in the Arab world in light of the global financial crisis.
- The role of industry in the creation of job opportunities.
- Scientific research, industrial development and technology transfers.
- Role of the private sector in industrial development and case studies of Arab and international successes.
The forum was a unique opportunity for Arab decision-makers and industrialists to meet and communicate during the conference activities and the concurrent exhibition.
