Under the Patronage of the Minister of Economic Development of the Arab Republic of Egypt, H.E. Dr. Osman Mohamed Osman, the Arab Textile Industries Forum convened on the 15th of March 2009 at the Semiramis Intercontinental Hotel, Cairo.
The Forum, organized by the Arab Federation for Textile Industries (AFTI) and Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Group in cooperation with the Egyptian Chamber of Textile Industries (ECTI), attracted a wide level of participation, including Arab ministers, government officials and policy makers, private sector leaders and investors in the textile industry, and Arab and international experts, in addition to major European and Asian manufacturers of textiles machinery, equipment and raw materials.
The Forum provided an ideal venue and platform for all parties involved in the Arab textile and clothing industries to meet and discuss outstanding issues in light of the recent economic, financial and technological developments.
