According to CB Richard Ellis, emerging markets have reaped the benefit of the ongoing global economic instability, which has driven international retailers to target economies with the best growth prospects and those least likely to be affected by austerity measures.
The report found that emerging markets are attracting an increasing number of international retailers and are competing with established global retail centers.
Moreover, and despite franchise brands tending to be dominated by the US and Europe, the MENA region is pushing forward to establish its own homegrown brands, and prospects for these brands reveal more than a glimmer of promise.
