The Opening ceremony will be held on Thursday, November 20 at the Intercontinental Phoenicia Hotel. Shuttle bus services will be provided from the various hotels to the venue. For security reasons, participants must wear the badges that they receive upon on-site registration.
All participants need to register on site to receive their badges prior to attending the Conference.

All participants, local and regional, will make and fund their own travel arrangements and purchase their economy/excursion roundtrip tickets by the most direct route as soon as possible.

Please ensure that your travel documents required to proceed to and enter Beirut are in order as early as possible. Any expenses related to passports, visas, inoculations, etc. should be paid for either by you or by your institution.
Should you need a visa to enter Beirut, please make the necessary arrangements with the Lebanese Embassy, consulate or representation in your country. You will need to present the Friends of Lebanon Conference for Investment and Finance letter confirming your attendance to obtain your visa.
If there is no Lebanese consulate or representation in your country, Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal, can help you obtain a visa. Please fax or e-mail Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal/Ms. Nisrine Abdulbaki a copy of the first three pages of your passport by October 30, 2008. Should you encounter any difficulties, contact Ms. Nisrine Abdulbaki at Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal (see “Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Contact List” below).
The staff of Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal will meet-&-assist you at the Rafic Hariri International Airport and then transfers you to your hotel and manages any other problem that you may encounter on arrival. Please send Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal your travel details, including dates, times and flight numbers of your arrival and departure by November 10, 2008 if you have not done so already through the registration form. This information is also necessary to reconfirm your hotel reservation.

Please note that daily shuttle bus services from the various hotels accredited by the organizers to Intercontinental Phoenicia Hotel will be provided to all participants. The schedule of shuttle buses during the 2-day Conference will be provided to you upon your arrival.
Upon registration, the Operations department will provide you with forms that include full details of travel & accommodation facilities and rates. We perform bookings with the hotels based on the information provided to us by the participants through filling the forms with all the required information. The participants will receive a confirmation letter from our Operations Department as soon as the booking is done.
