On 17 October 2011, H.E. Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassem Bin Jabr Al Thani inaugurated the activities of The GCC Transport and Railways Conference with the presence of more than 600 delegates coming from more than 30 countries to participate in this unique event that highlighted GCC plans for transport and railway development plans and projects, as well as assessed their potential impact on the GCC market and regional trade.
The high level participation was led by ministers, policy makers, regulators, operators, manufacturers, contractors, consultants and other players in the transport and railway industry, in addition to representatives of regional and international organizations, major engineering companies, regional and international banks and financial institutions, and a wide spectrum of stakeholders.
The GCC Transport and Railways Conference is organized by the Qatar Railways Company (RAIL) in association with the General Secretariat of the GCC, the Federation of GCC Chambers, the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Group.
