Dr. Ali is the first President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB).
He began his career in education and manpower development where his contribution to the development of the people was recognized by the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and was soon selected to serve as Deputy Minister of Education.
Upon the initiative of the late King Faisal Bin Abdulaziz, when the member countries of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) decided to establish the Islamic Development Bank, he was chosen as its first President.
Dr Ali holds a Law Degree from Cairo University, Egypt, and an M.A. and PhD degrees, in Public Administration, from the University of Michigan and State University of New York respectively.


H.E. Al Zadjali is Executive President of the Central Bank of Oman.
Previously, H.E. was Deputy Executive President at the Central Bank of Oman, and General Manager of Oman Housing Bank.
H.E. Zadjali holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Boston University, U.S.A

H.E. Sultan Bin Nasser Al Suwaidi is governor of the Central Bank of the UAE. He started his career at Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) in 1978.
He previously served as the General Manager of Abu Dhabi Investment Company.
H.E. holds a B.S. Degree in Business Administration and Finance.


Mr. Nizam is Deputy Secretary General of Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) Manama, Bahrain.
Prior to joining AAOIFI, Mr. Nizam was with Malaysia’s largest financial services group for over 10 years, and was Head of Islamic Banking in the group’s offshore banking arm.
Mr. Nizam graduated from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, and is a Certified Islamic Professional Accountant (CIPA).

Mr. Berro was appointed Founding Group Chief Executive Officer of Al Hilal Bank in February 2008 bringing approximately 20 years of banking industry expertise.
He was previously global head for Arab Bank’s Personal Banking Group.
Mr. Berro started his career with Arthur Andersen, Kuwait, and held various senior positions in the National Bank of Kuwait in both Kuwait and Lebanon, prior to moving to join Credit Agricole in Egypt.
Mr. Berro completed his post graduate studies receiving a Master of Science.
Mr. Khalil is Senior Associate with Booz & Company and a member of the financial services practice. Mr. Khalil has over 10 years of consulting experience in the Middle East. He advises banks and investment companies, with particular emphasis on Islamic financial institutions.
He has led engagements in the areas of strategy, portfolio management, restructuring and transformation, organizational development and governance, and performance improvement.
Mr. Khalil holds an MBA from INSEAD and a Bachelor Degree in Computer and Communications Engineering from the American University of Beirut.

Mr. Askalan is CEO of Oman Arab Bank.
He is also Deputy Chairman of Oman Telecommunication Company (Oman Tel) and the Deputy Chairman of Banking & Investment Committee of the Chamber of Commerce.
He serves on the board of several organizations such as Ominvest,Gulf Investment Corporation & College of Banking & Financial Studies.
Prof. Al-Quradaghy is Chairman of the Department of Jurisprudence and its Principles, in the faculty of Shari’ah Law and Islamic Studies at the University of Qatar.
He also sits on the Shari’ah Supervisory Board for a number of Islamic Banks and other Islamic Financial institutions, either as chairman or member.
Prof. Al-Quradaghy holds a PhD in Shari’ah nd Law with distinction from El Azhar University Cairo, Egypt and has over 60 works published in the fields of Islamic Economy and Comparative Jurisprudence.
Prof. Al-Quradaghy holds a Ph.D. in Shari’ah and Law with distinction from El Azhar University Cairo, Egypt.
Mr. Aslan is Head of Islamic banking at Bank Muscat’s Meethaq Islamic banking group and has pioneering efforts in the introduction of Islamic banking in Oman.
He is Associate of Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA), UK.
Mr. Aslan was Previously leading team member of Islamic Financial Services Group at Ernst & Young, Pakistan.
He graduated from Oxford Brookes University, UK in Applied Accounting and carries Post-graduate Diploma (PGD) in Islamic banking, Centre of Islamic Economics, Dar-ul-Eloom, Karachi.

Mr. Abdou is Group Director of Marketing at ITS, and has Over 15 years of IT experience in the Banking and Finance Industry.
Mr. Abdou has vast experience in IT Strategies for financial institutions based on the latest service oriented architectures, as well as architecting technology to meet the requirements of Islamic financial institutions, amongst other fields.
He is Deputy Chairman of Islamic Internal Financial Markets (IIFM) and chairs the executive committee.
Before taking up his existing position at the beginning of 2007, he had gained a wealth of experience in the capital markets arena with a number of high profile assignments internationally for the group. This included head of markets in London and New York, and Global head of FX.
At the beginning of 2007, he took on the role of building the groups Islamic banking business on a worldwide basis, with a mandate across all business lines in CA-CIB including corporate banking, structured finance, capital markets and private banking.
Mr. Zainal Izlan Zainal Abidin joined Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) as Executive Director, Islamic Capital Market in January 2011.
Mr. Zainal has over 20 years experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining the SC, he was Chief Executive Officer / Director of i-VCAP Management, an Islamic fund management firm based in Malaysia. He previously was Chairman of MAAM Islamic Fund Management Sub-Committee, President of CFA Malaysia and Vice Chairman of the Malaysian Association of Asset Managers (MAAM).

Mr. Alvi has over two decades of experience in the financial services industry, specifically in the areas of Capital & Money Market and Investment Banking.
He is Chief Executive of International Islamic Financial Market (IIFM) since 2005, where he has been instrumental in initiating standardization of Islamic Capital & Money Market’s Documentation, Products and related Processes. In order to enhance and bring unification in Islamic Finance and its legal system he has negotiated and successfully signed several Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with organizations such as IRTI-IDB, ISDA, ICMA, AIBIM etc.

Mr. Al Monayea is Vice Chairman, MD & CEO of Liquidity Management House the wholly owned subsidiary of Kuwait Finance House (KFH). He has more than twenty five years of experience in investments and corporate finance, in both government and private sectors and currently holds key board positions in a number of companies.
Prior to joining KFH, he was with Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA), for 15 years, where he was instrumental in setting-up the Direct Investment Department of KIA and is a key contributor for the development of Islamic capital market.
Mr. Al Monayea holds a B.S. Degree from Kuwait University and has completed the Executive Finance Program of INSEAD, France.
Dr. Rina is Director of MAA Group Berhad (formerly known as MAA Holdings Berhad), and holds directorships in several private limited companies.
She was Consultant to Financial Technologies Middle East based in Bahrain for the set up of Bahrain Financial Exchange (BFX) launched in January 2009 and has more than 20 years experience in the financial, commodities and securities industry and the development of the Malaysian Capital Market.
Dr. Rina received her BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance from Leeds UK, her MBA from Hull UK and holds a Doctorate in Business Administration, focusing on capital markets research and specializing in derivatives, Hull UK.

Sheikh Bilal is a key member of the global Islamic finance practice at the magic circle law firm Linklaters LLP.
He is currently co-authoring and editing two multi-volume legal treatises: Legal Practitioners' Guide to Sukuk and Legal Practitioners' Guide to Takaful and ReTakaful (Islamic Insurance and Reinsurance) as well as regularly contributing in industry journals and magazines and being quoted in the electronic and press media.
In 2004, Omar Kalair founded UM Financial Group, which today is Canada’s premier Islamic Financial Institution as well as a member of the leading international Islamic finance bodies such IFSB and AAOIFI. UM operates UM Financial Group, UM Investment, UM Advisory (Sukuks) and the iFreedomplus Mastercard. In 2005, UM received a Mudarabah financing facility that reached $120 million to finance residential Canadian households on a Musharakah bases. UM Financial is also working towards Islamic ETF, Takaful insurance, Canadian bank license and more. UM Financial is a founding member of Usury Free Association of North America. In 2005, Omar Kalair was admitted to a PhD program in Islamic Economics & Finance. Mr. Kalair is recognized among CIC's top twenty Muslim business leaders at the Canadian parliament, was presented by World Finance with “Islamic Finance Business Leadership Award - North America” and also awarded Entrepreneur of the Year by the Canadian Islamic Chamber of Commerce. His Alma Matta Wilfrid Laurier University celebrated its 100 year anniversary and Mr. Kalair was selected as Top 100 Alumni of Achievement from close to 100,000 graduating Alumni’s. In founding UM Financial, Mr. Kalair has demonstrated an exceptional ability to see and lead the Canadian Islamic Finance industry from a technical, marketing, financial and regulatory angle.Dr. Chaar is Professor and Research Consultant at the Ecole Supérieure des Affaires. He is in charge of Research and Development and leads the engineering and expansion of the school’s new programs, including Islamic financial programs and activities.
Dr. Chaar teaches Master level courses on Islamic Finance. He is an editor and qualified trainer of the international Islamic Financial Qualification (IFQ). He has written a number of articles and participated in numerous books on Islamic Financial management issues.
He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the French university Paris-Est., a Masters Degree-Research in Strategic Management- from the same university, and a Masters Degree in Marketing and Communication from ESCP Europe.
Mr. Elkhraijy is Executive Vice President and Head of the Islamic Banking Development Group in NCB.
Over the past 30 years Mr. Elkhraijy succeeded in building a solid background in different aspects of the banking practices as well as handling several key positions in NCB.
Mr. Elkhraijy is an active member in many of NCB’s senior committees and is board member of some local and international institutions.
Mr. Dahlawi in his current role as CEO brings unique experience in counselling enterprises and executive teams as they embark on journeys to Shari’a compliant markets.
His primary area of work involves assisting the financial sector develop and establish Shari’a compliant businesses. He has been involved in multiple study/project mandates such as exploring customer’s inputs and managing Shari’a compatible financial products.
Mr. Dahlawi is a Certified Shari’a Advisor & Auditor (CSAA) and holder of MBA (The University of Hull, UK).
Sheikh Dr. Abu Ghuddah is Head of the Financial Investment Development and Sharia Research Department, and is member of the Sharia Board of the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Institutions since 1995.
He is also member of the Sharia Supervisory Committee and was Researcher at the Faqih Institution of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Awqaf.
Sheikh Dr. Abu Ghuddah has a Ph.D. in Islamic Jurisprudence and a Masters Degree in Hadith Sciences.
Mr. Hasan is currently Head of legal and Shariah consultant at SAH Global.
He specialises in structuring and drafting Shariah compliant financial products in both English and Arabic and is an AAOIFI Certified Shariah Advisor and Auditor.
He formerly was an Associate in the award winning Islamic finance team at the international law firm, Simmons & Simmons, based in Dubai.
Mr. Hasan read law at the London School of Economics and was called to the English bar in 2001 after which he studied various traditional Shariah disciplines, including fiqh and usul al-fiqh.

Mr. Bataineh has more than 21 years of experience specializing in financial investments and fund management and is a member of several committees including Oman Arab Bank like Asset Liabilities Committee (ALCO), Investment, IT Steering, Marketing and Promotion Committees.
Mr. Bataineh holds a Masters Degree as well as B.Sc (Honor Degree) in Money & Banking.
Ms. Lootah holds the position of Chief Business and Sales Manager at Mawarid Finance & is Managing Director for Mawarid’s wholly owned subsidiary IFS (FZE).
She is well experienced in Shariah compliant Banking in the region, holding several professional certificates in Islamic Finance (CIFE), Islamic Banking(CIB),Takaful(CTP), & a post graduate Diploma in Islamic Banking & Insurance.
Ms. Lootah graduated in BSc Engineering from UAE University.
Mr. Siddiqui holds a Bachelors & Masters degree in Business Administration from Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi with six gold medals. His areas of specialization include MIS & Islamic Finance. His previous assignment includes launching of Car Ijarah – Islamic car financing scheme & Easy Home – Islamic Housing Finance as Product Manager.
Currently working as Executive Vice President, Product Development & Shariah Compliance (PDSC) & Secretary, Shariah Supervisory Board at Meezan Bank Limited. The job responsibilities include managing product development initiatives, formulation of policy guidelines, Islamic banking training, Shariah audit & review of bank activities along with the Shariah Advisor and managing external product development advisory services.
Mr. Siddiqui is also actively involved in Islamic banking training activities and has conducted various training sessions, corporate workshops & seminars on different Islamic Banking topics including Islamic Financial Products, Product Development & Structuring, Islamic Accounting Standards, Liquidity Management Solutions etc for Meezan Bank both locally and abroad.
He is also a frequent speaker on Islamic banking at National Institute of Banking & Finance (State Bank of Pakistan), Export Promotion Bureau, LUMS & Center of Islamic Economics (CIE), Karachi.
Currently Mr. Siddiqui is also a member of Advisory team for Center of Islamic Economics (CIE), Jamia Darul uloom Karachi and a visiting faculty member at IBA Karachi, PAF-KIET & Shaikh Zahid Islamic Center, University of Karachi.
He is also a member of several task forces at the Central Bank level related to Islamic banking products and Shariah Standards & Secretary of PBA Islamic banking Sub-committee.
