Turkish-Arab Capital Markets Forum
Building a Rewarding Partnership

In the last decade, economic partnership between Turkey and the Arab countries has been growing at an accelerating pace. Trade between Turkey and the Arab countries has more than quadrupled to reach $33 billion in 2010, which represents more than 20 percent of Turkey's foreign trade. Moreover, Turkey attracted more $10 billion of Arab investments between 2002 and 2010, while more than 2 million Arab tourists visit Turkey every year.

Despite this significant expansion in trade, capital and tourism flows, a greater potential is yet to be realized. Developing such a potential will require more vibrant and developed capital and financial markets to accommodate and facilitate the expected growth in trade and investments between Turkey and the Arab countries in the coming years.

To explore the potential of expanding capital and financial markets partnership between Turkish and Arab capital markets, Istanbul Stock Exchange (IMKB) in cooperation with the Capital Markets Board of Turkey (SPK), will be hosting the Turkish-Arab Capital Markets Forum, to be organized by Al-Iktissad Wal Aamal Group on the 16th of November 2012 at the Four Seasons Bosphorus Hotel in Istanbul.

The agenda of the Turkish Arab Capital Markets Forum will focus its proceedings on the following issues and topics:

  • Role of Turkey as a Financial Hub: Connecting Regional and Global Markets.
  • Arab and Turkish Regulatory Convergence: Harmonizing laws and regulations.
  • Boosting capital flow between Turkish and Arab markets.
  • Removing barriers and increasing capital markets linkages.
  • Enhancing investors ability to raise debt and equity across Turkish and Arab markets
  • Developing the Prospects for Arab & Turkish M&A’s and Private Equity Dimensions

Turkish-Arab Capital Markets Forum will bring together more than 300 high level participants from Turkey and the Arab world, including senior government officials, capital markets regulators, stock exchange authorities, brokers, asset managers and private equity firms, finance and investment leaders, investment bankers and representatives of major regional and international financial institutions.
