Dr. Issam Raad, HOME President and Chair of the Board, is one of the leading experts and physician inventors in the field of healthcare related infections and infections in cancer worldwide. A Distinguished Chairman and an Endowed Distinguished Professor of Medicine, Dr. Raad has chaired the University of Texas MD Anderson's Department of Infectious Diseases for 21 years. Dr. Raad has published over 500 scientific articles in high impact peer-reviewed journals, over 40 book chapters and has more than 120 issued patents. In 1989, Dr. Raad and several Christ-centered physicians met during a conference in Washington, D.C and founded HOME (Health Outreach to the Middle East), a charitable medical organization that exists to offer physical and spiritual healing to people in need in the Middle East. HOME now has grown to support more than 18 clinics, mobile medical units and hospitals in multiple Arab countries. Currently HOME is in the process of establishing a teaching and medical mission training hospital in Cairo, Egypt and expanding the HOME specialty Medical Center in Lebanon
